Is it possible to setup the 8.1 without an internet connection. I only have a dongle at the moment, not a wireless or ethernet connection, and my setup for 8.1 seems to have stalled after saying it was only going to take a few more moments. I had ticked the box that chose not to connect to the internet at this time, so thought it would still proceed without problems. Please can someone advise - is the blank screen and whirring cursor as sign that something has gone wrong, or is it just taking an incredibly long time to setup? At the start of the process it told me not to switch off the machine until it was completed, so I am now in a dilemma. Do I just leave it in the hope it will resolve itself or do I switch the machine off, and if I do that, what might be the consequences?
