Could you tell the difference between 30-50fps?

I'm very curious now that I was doing fps comparisons. If 30fps is smooth, I wouldn't mind asking what gpu would run COD: BO2 on ultra with 30fps? If it runs on 30fps on ultra, what estimation of fps would you get on medium to high settings? I really don't care about having ultra, med-high settings are fine.

I've been laying my eyes on gtx 750 ti for a while, but as far as processor goes, I was told that the gpu price should somewhat be close to the cpu so it's not bottle necked, can you elaborate on what that means?.. I know what bottle necked means but price wise I mean. Because the Intel and AMD processors are at very similar speeds but vary in prices by a lot.

i always have a more expensive gpu compared to the cpu, right now my gpu is twice as expensive (an unlocked cpu has more potential)
30-50 is very noticeable, 30 is like bordering to not smooth already, anything lower and it will make me want to throw up

i dont know how much fps you'll get, but if you can get 30 on ultra, then you are sure that you will have better fps on lower settings.
i do the same, i have a 760, play bf4 on medium just so i can get 120fps (or close to it, depending on the map) since i have 120hz, smoother that way

that is ridiculous, 120 fps is completely unnoticable, infact only very experienced gamers can notice anything above 60 fps. you should raise settings for a stable 60 fps or a bit higher, you will have much better gameplay.

Mhmm ok ok, and when would the speeds of a cpu begin to bottleneck a gpu??

sorry but i notice 120, even moving notepad on the desktop can show you this. Try Blizzards heartstone (as an example), set it to max settings and i noticed that aside from graphics, the fps shoots to 120 also (to match the refresh rate), and the animation is smoother.

i am not a pro gamer, but i guess it depends on how sensitive your eyes are, just like some people don't notice much difference when using high end sound devices like cans or better sound cards (im one of them)

When playing a 1st person or over the shoulder game with a mouse that controls your view, I get nauseated very rapidly at 30 FPS. I do not at 80 FPS, and it's a sliding scale between. Basically at 30 FPS, I tend to start feeling sick within 5 mins, and by 30 mins, I need to lay down a while and rest up. After a week, I can extend that time to an hour or more before I need to lay down because of how sick I feel. At 50 FPS, things got a lot better, and at 60 FPS it is pretty good, but I still start to feel nauseated by an hour. It takes 80+ FPS before I do not feel this way.

The biggest difference for me is how sluggish the mouse feels at lower FPS.

Plenty of people can "feel" the difference, and can "see" the difference too, but there is a caveat. It is a lot harder to see with a slow pixel response time. With a low pixel response, everything gets blurred together beyond 60 FPS. It takes a good response time to see a big difference, and it is far more noticeable with one that strobes the backlight (Lightboost and similar monitors).

I don't understand how anyone couldn't feel the difference between 30, 60, and 120 fps. 30 fps is literally borderline intolerable for me. 60 is fine and 120 feels the most... smooth? I guess might be the best word for it. I just run my games on my 120hz at 120fps

https://boallen.com/fps-compare.html

That's a good example I think. 15 is just terrible, 30 is meh, 60 is good. They need to put a 120 in there

this will be my last post about the 120, in respect to the good sir.

heartstone responds well to 120hz, i have it installed on my pc, i play it, it takes only seconds to change the setting so it is very very easy to compare. even my wife (who has low interest) can notice it. and it's not just for the smoothness, i just favor having 120 then dip a little lower so it is still smooth, than push it 60fps then dip to 30 sometimes.
if you haven't own something more than 60hz then you can only answer based on what you read. hey, i myself cannot here much difference when using expensive headsets with amps and all, my ears are just not sensitive enough, so i don't really appreciate it

edit: i am not saying that i can "see" when a 120 goes down to 110, no, but 60 vs 120, yeah it is noticeable.
just try, set to 60, drag around a notepad or something, set to 120 and do the same. it pays well in first person shooters where you do quick turns
