Are people on this subreddit selling extra OS keys they have or are they illegal? And if they are legit, how big of a USB do I need to transfer the OS to a newly built pc?

Solution

Yes, it's safe. What the users are selling are keys, not the software and the Subreddit specifically labels the verified sellers who have been confirmed to be legit. There's no way you can get "malware" as you'd be downloading the Windows ISO straight from Microsoft.

They only sell the keys, the iso is what you download from the microsoft site.

Yeah even downloading freeware off Reddit can be full of Malware. I downloaded a ISO burning program that installed some malware that disabled my drivers, then took me to a link that said I had 68 errors and that I needed to pay some shady website to fix them. Needless to say I dumped the malware and uninstalled the offending program.
