Hi Everyone,

It's time for me to upgrade my PC, just can't keep upgrading it anymore. I'm looking at getting an i5-4570 w/ HD 4600 graphics. I have an XFX HD-4670 Radeon 1GB video card from my current setup and I'm curious to know if this old card (circa 2009) is an upgrade or downgrade to the Intel GPU?

Thanks,

Thanks guys for the quick reply. And thank you Rationale for the link. I figured the old tech would have been surpassed by now, but I guess not. Into the new system it goes!

The newer chips are much more efficient (22nm process, better architecture, etc), but even older video cards will perform better than integrated chips simply because they're meant for game performance and have the required texture mapping units and bandwidth, while integrated chips just use their new tech to decrease power consumption and decrease size.
