So I got this new computer I'm building myself...but the ram and os hasn't came yet and won't come until a week and I don't want to wait that long to see if my new computer will even turn on....so if I could take my old ddr3 ram and put it into my new computer...Will that work? And would I have any trouble with putting the new ram in once I get I it..bios or software wise? Because I won't be installing a os until I get my new ram and this is all too figure out if my computer will boot into the bios or not...to see if everything is working...Thanks again

Yes it will work if its not some ancient ram, most motherboars support min 1333Mhz ram while older ones support 800Mhz so if your motherboard does support your "old" ram speeds than it will work. and when the new ram arrives just simple kick out the old ones and snap in the new ones.

Before you start installing your DDR3 RAM onto your motherboard, check your motherboard's RAM slot if it's DDR3. If its DDR3, you can install it onto your motherboard. If it's not, don't force it in as it won't fit and you might damage the RAM slots.
