QoS settings for aztech DSL5001EN - Diablo 3 priority

Hi, can you help me configuring the qos settings of the router mentioned in the title. I have owned linksys cisco routers and the qos settings were not as complicated as this.



The ports needed for Diablo 3 are 1119 and 6881-6999. But there are so many fields which I do not know what to put on it. Please help me.

Hard to say exactly non of these routers are the same. I would suspect you could just put the port numbers in, you will need to use 2 different rules and then put them in the high group.

All the setting related to dscp and most the other stuff is a complete waste of time on a router connected to the internet. Any packet markings are removed by the ISP. This type of router is never used in a internal business network so I see no purpose for even having all these confusing options.

Still I suspect very strongly even when you get it setup it will accomplish nothing unless there are other QoS screens that let you key in fixed data rates. Even then you likely will see no benefit. The key problem is that you can only actually control...

The key problem is that you can only actually control traffic you are sending...ie upload. Most people that have issues with capacity are exceeding their download which the ISP control what data is discarded.

Of course if you neither exceed you upload or download bandwidth then there is no need for QoS because no data will be dropped or significantly delayed.

Pretty much the only people that can benefit from the QoS that routers like this have is if you were running torrents and allowing too much data to be uploaded......you are much better off setting the options in torrent clients.
