HI guys, i have decided to buy the samsung evo 840 120gb , but i want to know the exact capacity of the ssd.Does it have 120gb or less and how much space will be left after a fresh install of windows 7 ultimate x64(in my current hdd takes up 26gb with alll the latest updates). Also i am planning to install the same programs and games that i have on my current hdd which all of them are about 25gb.
So the main question is how much space will i have available.

Thanks in advance.

Solution
Well if the media you intend to stream is on a slower drive, you cannot gain more speed than the maximum output of the source drive.

On the other hand you don't need more than 20 Mbs for full hd:) The few games you might play i would put on the ssd

You should over provision on a SSD drive, same goes for HDD as well. You have temp files and page files, keep that in mind. SSD drive will choke if you fill it to the brim, keep atleast 10% free at all times

On the other hand you made a great choice on that drive, i picked one for my laptop, replacing my ssd. It's properly fast and it surprised me

thanks for your quick answer, I will try to keep my free space between 15-25 gb because i will use my hdd to store all my downloadable content. will it be fine to run smoothly and not lose a big amount of read speeds ?

well, the samsung magician has an option that automatically does that for you, it also has a lot of excellent tuning options and a rapid mode.
I cloned my old crappy hd to the same ssd you picked with the samsung clone sw, took like 30m and everything was working like a charm
