Mackoo :
Ahh thanks alot for the input. More thoughts on the barebones kit i linked would be appreciated!
OK, although I did mention above I'm trying not to offend when I put this rather steer you in the correct direction.
What I am trying to say is no, the components in that barebones kit are not ideal. I totally understand the perspective if that is around your budget. I'm not sure how much PC building you do but if you want to build a desktop that is going to work correctly after you have assembled it you need to spend the money in the correct places.
I struggle to understand the use of the AMD A series APU's for the most part, if you are even semi interested in gaming while in indy games they are at best acceptable if you throw something even remotely graphics intensive at it you will be ultimately disappointed. They also sort of make no sense as a media machine, they use too much power v's the Intel and although the Intel graphics processor is nowhere near as good in Benchmarks and in light gaming if you are using it for a media machine does that even matter so long as it plays back HD video?
I'm not bashing AMD, as I use a mix of processors at home and I think price v's performance AMD wins almost all the time.
The 750k Athlon is a superior gaming processor when combined with a discreet graphics card. It also has superior raw processing power for performing any other task. It's not a compromise like an A series APU but you can use the same cheap motherboards (FM2) and purchase price if anything is less!
As for the power supply. I very strongly advise you to not use that 450w power supply in that barebones kit. Numerous posts are on Tom's almost daily with people complaining about unstable machines and so often the solution is replacing the power supply. The power supply is the most overlooked, but possible one of the most important purchases you can make when building a computer. Invest in a quality power supply it will payback dividends.
You could even save money in the short term by purchasing 1x4gb RAM stick and upgrade at a later date as for the applications you are currently using 4gb would be more than enough.
