Planning on upgrading to r9 290, and i have the i5-3570K. Will this bottleneck? Also I read on newegg in specs that the processor supports dual channel memory 1333 and 1600 MHz, does that mean it only supports 2 ram sticks?

Solution
No, it will not bottleneck it. The processor only supports dual channel memory, but you can still have 4 sticks. It'll just run in dual channel and not quad channel mode. Your motherboard may limit the number of sticks of RAM you can use though.

Yes, if you use 4 identical sticks (speed and latencies), they'll all run in dual channel mode. They can be different speeds, but it'll then run dual channel mode at the speed of the slowest stick (and there can be compatibility issues - hence the reason memory companies sell matched sets of 2 or 4 sticks).
