Computer shuts off randomly?

Hi, I'm hoping to get some help with this issue I'm having. This is my first build (built about a year ago). 2 days ago, my computer shut off randomly. I assumed it was an update I had missed, that wanted to reboot my system. It turned back on, and I immediately noticed my mouse, monitor and keyboard had stopped working. I removed my graphics cards (2 crossfired Sapphire Radeon HD 6850) and plugged my monitor into my mobo's on board graphics. The computer booted up and everything seemed to be working fine. But the problem persisted. I re-installed windows, and everything has been going well until about 10 minutes ago, it happened again. I removed the graphics cards like I had the first few times, but it didn't boot up. I went around unplugging a few things and plugging them back in. Eventually I got it to boot up. It's working now, but if the problem persists, I'll have to do something about it. Does this sound like an issue with my mobo or GPU? I don't know too much about computers, just enough to build my own.

Cpu
Mobo
GPU
Power Supply

I'm also running on Windows 7 64bit, 8 GB ram and a 120gb SSD.

Any help would be appreciated!

PS: I was not playing any CPU intensive games, or anything. Just browsing the web when it happened.

Sounds like an issue with your mobo or psu :) I'd try a different PSU if you have access to one, make sure all your connections are good and there are no shorting wires anywhere too, re-seat all cards, power connectors, and RAM DIMMS. If a new PSU does not fix it before getting a new MOBO you will want to takr everything apart and do a barebones build - just CPU, 1 RAM stick, video and power. Then run memtest a long time and see if the error if you get any errors or restarts.

EDIT: also remove any parts not necessary - usb devices, drives, add on cards etc. try to isolate

Thanks, I'll take note next time it crashes. And unfortunately I don't have any alternative psu to try. I've been running for a solid 5 hours or so and haven't come across a crash. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Alright. Happened again today. It seems to be happening about the same time every day. Event log shows a kernal-power error, but that's all. I had my dump files set up to write the events to system log, but it didn't log anything. This time it happened right after I was uninstalling the internet explorer 11 update, because it was interfering with Fraps. Now that I think about it, I had done this just before it shut down the first time. Could this be an issue with Windows?

It took a lot to get the mouse, keyboard and monitor running this time. I'm still not sure what I did. I just went on a rampage re-seating things.
