If Windows 7 is 'the best' for networking, why does the licence only work on one computer? One computer is not a network!

Hi

The only dependacy on Windows version and number of users I can think of is if you are trying to use a Windows Client version as a server.

Normal Retail Windows licences are one for each PC.
Windows Servers also have restrictions on how many users can connect to the server unless you buy extra licences

If you want a free operating system software use Linux
(but which of many versions do you choose ?)
