So I was cleaning out my brother's computer (he downloads lots of random stuff), then decided to run HWMonitor to check the temperatures. His CPU (AMD X2 6000+) was burning up. 80c on both cores. It's been untouched for about six years so I figured a new coat of thermal paste would do it. That knocked it down about 10c. At this point, I think it's time to replace the crappy AMD stock cooler. He's not going to be overclocking, so something quiet and reliable is really all he needs. The case is a Guardian 921 so pretty much anything will fit.
I was considering both the Cooler Master Hyper TX3 and the Arctic Freezer 7 Pro. I have the 7 Pro in my own computer and love it, although the fan can get noisy at times. Are there any other better coolers that I'm missing?
