I have an after market fan (Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO with x1 120mm PWM Fan ) that ramps up its RPM As it gets hotter though I would love it if it the thing didn't muck around and remained suppressing the heat at a constant rate. It starts as low as 700rpm then doesn't go past 1700 as it peaks at 54c WTF. My previous AMD Phenom II x6 1045T had my fan huffing at about 1800rpm. Please, can someone a lot smarter than I explain if this is normal, dangerous, or anything else.

I can also post a video of my temps and CPU usage if I knew how to do so on this forum .

Thanks for being awesome and responding, I keep being paranoid about the temps for this is my first installation of a CPU. After watching a couple of tutorial of course.

regarding your fan speed, it is set in BIOS. Normally, you can set it to a fixed value, or a minimum value and set a temperature where it starts to ramp up. If you want it constantly at 1800rpm, then set it to that level.
