I have a computer that had windows 7 professional and my friend had me use a restore disc that truned out to be a install disc that was given to him form the pervuis user of the computer so now it is asking for a product id and I don't have it plus there is no sticker please give me a hand with trying to find a store that may let me buy a windows key for a professional 32 bit system

the activation assistant should be referring you to call a microsoft phone number for activation. they will sell you a key.

1. First please check the disk is having same OS version came with your Computer i.e Ultimate , professional , home , or something else.
2. Go to computer properties (window key+ pause break key). activate your windows.
3.Check ur windows genuinity in Microsoft site by validating here :
http://www.microsoft.com/genuine/validate/

4.If not sucessful you have to call for assistance from microsoft.

You do not require a new key because it is legit key you are having previously.
