So I currently play my PS3 on a TV which has inbuilt sound obviously, however, I am going to buy a monitor to play on instead. The monitor I am getting is at this link:

http://www.msy.com.au/home/12480-asus-236-vs247hv-5ms-1...

At the current point, I cant afford a headset just yet so I need an alternative sound source. So I have a few questions:

1. Does this monitor have inbuilt sound?
2. If not, is there a way I can plug 2.0 speakers like this: http://www.msy.com.au/peripherals/10019-creative-sbs-a3..., into either the PS3 or the monitor to output sound?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks :)

Your links don't work for me. Anyway you can get it to work. HDMI to the monitor and you can have the ps3 route sound through the RCA cables. Use and adapter if you need too.

So you're saying that I should plug HDMI from PS3 into the monitor I get that.

Then, do I:
1. Plug speakers directly into PS3? If so, do I need and an adapter and which one? or;
2. Plug the speakers into the monitor?

From your link: "AV Audio Input : HDMI
Earphone jack : 3.5mm Mini-Jack (for HDMI Only)"

This should mean that you can have audio input from the PS3 via HDMI and output via a 3.5mm jack.

That means you should be able to plug in the speakers you linked and get sound.

Your monitor can output sound to those speakers you posted. Done.

It looks pretty simple. Plug the console in via HDMI to the monitor, then plug the speakers into the monitors. Looks as in this case no adapter necessary.
