Hi I am going to be building a really cheap pc and I am wondering if this pc will work

Processor-amd sempron 145
Mobo- Msi 760gm
Graphics Card-nvidia gt210
Ram-Kingston technology 4gb
Psu-CIT 450w
HDD-generic state drive 320gb
Case-corsair carbide 300r (I'm getting this because ill be using it for other builds)

Solution

I think with a budget build you overspend on the case, a better apu for less money,

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks

CPU: AMD A10-5800K 3.8GHz Quad-Core Processor (£79.75 @ Amazon UK)
Motherboard: ASRock FM2A55M-VG3+ Micro ATX FM2+ Motherboard (£32.02 @ CCL Computers)
Memory: Kingston Fury Red Series 4GB (1 x 4GB) DDR3-1866 Memory (£28.48 @ CCL Computers)
Storage: Western Digital AV 250GB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive (£15.00 @ Amazon UK)
Case: Cooler Master N200 MicroATX Mid Tower Case (£28.64 @...
Okay, I do need to know 2 things.

Is this for general purpose (web browsing, etc), or some gaming as well?
What is your total budget for the parts you listed?

If the budget is very low (like £200 for the whole PC) you'll need an APU. Otherwise a CPU + GPU will perform better.

Hmm. It's hard to say what the best option would be.

I know it's a bit over budget, but this would offer better performance all around. And upgrading later would probably allow you to run in dual graphics with the APU.

Yeah, but well enough. My $150 netbook can still handle Minecraft at 25-30 fps on medium.

A hazzar17,

do you have a dvd player or need one?
Do you have windows already?

Solution

He is overspending on the case, but if that's the main part of his PC he plans to keep indefinitely it may still be worthwhile.
