My friend wants to record some YouTube videos and play games at decently High settings at 1080P or 720P, since he doesn't need to have "Super High Quality video that takes up the whole freaking hard drive". He can live with Medium he said, and wants 30 FPS or more. Honestly, Medium isn't good enough for me. I want him to get the best for the money he wants to spend, which is not too much more than $600 USD. I put something together in PCPartPicker, and according to Benchmarks these parts should even play some games at Ultra settings (The 250X/HD 7770 is pretty much the best card for just getting into 1080P gaming, in my honest opinion. It's such a great value). Anyway, what would you guys change? I'm giving him my old monitor so the only thing he needs that's "extra" would be the OS (He doesn't want Win8) and mouse and keyboard.

i bit better cpu, faster ram, slightly better hdd, better gpu, much better psu, and under $600 :D the stock cpu cooler should be fine for none-mild overclocking.

I can't believe I didn't think of that PSU, something I wish I had put into my own build. Stupid me lol. Anyway, what would make the WD Blue better than the Seagate? I have a 1TB Barracuda myself, and it has had no problems whatsoever. Other than that, if the faster RAM stays so cheap, I see no problem in buying that over 1600MHz RAM. The build won't be strictly for gaming, it may come in handy.

This build is actually pretty nice, similar to my own but cheaper. The only problem would be Windows 8, which my friend said he doesn't want under any circumstances. Seriously, he said if Windows 7 isn't available he would consider Linux or SteamOS over Windows 8. Luckily 7 is the same price as 8, so the issue isn't really that big of a deal.

Yea you could just switch the OS to windows 7, it would be the same price.
