I have had issues in the past couple of weeks when playing games. Around 5-10 minutes into almost any game, my computer screen goes black and there's this audio stuttering for about 1 or 2 seconds and then my computer proceeds to restart itself. I've already updated all drivers, I've updated the BIOS, I've run memtests on my ram. Everything seems to check out. I don't think it's a power issue since I've been running this setup for almost a year with no issues and it's a 1000 watt power supply.

Here are my specs:

AMD Athlon II X2 Processor
Nvidia Geforce GTX 550 ti GPU
5GB Ram
Windows 8 64 bit

If you need any more information just ask. I've been googling around for a solution to no avail hopefully you guys can help me.

Thank you.

Update:

I ran the FurMark 15 minute gpu benchmark stress test to see if it was my GPU, but it went through the test without any issues (it got hot but nothing bad happened).

IRyannHD: I'll still try your solution and see what happens with that. I'll post another update once it's done.

Another Update:

So I deleted all old GPU drivers with Guru3D and installed new drivers from Nvidia website (courtesy of links). I went to play PoE and it was working fine for about 30 minutes. After that though, the same thing happened. Audio stutter for a second and then reset. I should mention that there is a significant drop in fps a few minutes before this occurs and that as well has been consistently happening. Any other solutions?

Download GPU Tweak or MSI After burner to see your temps, try to keep and eye on them just before a crash, also keep an eye on the voltage meter on gpu tweak/afterburner before the crash also.

I also recommend downloading memtest and testing your RAM. get a USB, download the USB automatic boot driver, restart the PC but boot from the USB, you may have to do a force boot from your BIOS.

www.memtest.org/download/5.01/memtest86+-5.01.usb.installer.zip

Open the zip, run the .exe and select the USB (Format the USB first) and select next, this will load all the memtest files on the USB ready to boot on.

Once booted on Memtest give it time to test the RAM and see if you get any errors.

Ok so I paid attention to the temperatures and apparently my GPU is getting up to 96 degrees Celsius. The fan is running at around 3000 rpm but it keeps spiking. Like it goes to 3000 rpm and 2 seconds later it goes to 0. And it just keeps doing that.
