apart from the o/c superiority 990fx will provide way better multi - gpu performance! and yes pcie 2.0 x4 will cripple a 280x performance

AMD® 970 Chipset is designed to support up to 4800MT HyperTransport™ 3.0 (HT 3.0) interface speed and PCI Express™ 2.0 x16 graphics.

AMD 990FX Chipset is designed to support up to 5200MT/s HyperTransport™ 3.0 (HT 3.0) interface speed and dual PCI Express™ 2.0 x16 graphics

guy above is wrong...
the 970 will only run at 4x on the scond GPU. (16x and 4x for sli/crossfire) 4x is not not enough for a 280x.
you want at least PCI-E 2.0 8x for a card of that power.

the m5a99fx will be perfect, as both cards will actaully run at 16x... so no bottlenecks. there's several other reasons the 99fx is better... but no reason to go beyond the GPU tracks

I was thinking to get M5A97 EVO R2.0 and get a liquid cooler with the left money nd add extra...
If there any problem to crossfiring the GPU with the mobo then I will definetly go with the 99fx Pro...
So what's ur opinion??

my opinion is to go with single gpu config of the latest gpu.if you have just a 1080p monitor one 280x will suffice. if you have 1440p still a 290x / 780ti would suffice and wont run into any stutter issues.also crossfiring would require at least a quality 750w psu. if you insist on crossfiring though go with 990fx simply because it will provide better performance and also provides sli ability
