Hey all,

I've seen a lot of threads about this problem, but no one seems to have my specific problem.
First off, my specs are as follows,

Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit
Intel Core2Duo (yeah I'm living in the stone ages, but I'm a broke college student)
Geforce 9800GT w/ version 335.23 drivers.

If there is any more info on my specs that you need, just let me know.

Anyway, so the problem I'm having is when the kernel mode stops, my screen goes black, but unlike all other threads I've read up on, mine stays black as opposed to just popping back on and telling me that the kernel mode stopped and recovered, which forces me to restart my PC.
Also, in other threads that I've read, it seems to happen to people during gameplay, however for me, it only happens when I try to stream videos, be it from Youtube to watchseries.

My GPU is relatively new and quite dust free. I also made sure that the slots for my RAM and GPU were clean.
So, what I've tried so far is uninstalling the current drivers, running driver sweeper after that, then installing an older version of drivers. When that didn't work, I tried with an even older version of drivers then just went back to the current drivers since two other versions didn't work.

I read somewhere that I needed to adjust settings in the Nvidia control panel from 'adaptive' to 'maximum performance' or something like that. I did and for one night it worked, next day it was back to the good ol black screen without popping back on. I checked the settings in the Nvidia control panel and verified that they did in fact stay the same.

I've been at this for a good couple weeks and I'm sure I've forgotten some of the things I've tried, but if anyone could offer up suggestions as to what the problem could be, I'd really appreciate that. It just seems strange that everyone else who is having this problem is gaming, whereas all I wanna do is watch stuff online.

Oh, and I have tested it with games. Well, Minecraft, since I just wiped one of my drives and put Win 7 on it and scrapped XP instead of dual booting so I haven't had the opportunity to test out games like Skyrim or Titanfall that most others are having issues running. No problems so far with Minecraft though, yay for that.

Anyway, thanks in advance. I do work today, so I may not be online much until I'm off.
