Does my motherboard support this cpu?

My motherboard is a gigabyte ga-78lmt-USB3 now I currently had an amd fx 8150 processor and changed it to a amd fx 8350 processor after reading online that my motherboard supports this cpu . We'll the installation was fine everything seems to be working the lights come on the pc I hear the beep and all the fans move. However, windows doesn't seem to come on when I switch the pc on instead I get a black screen with all this writing us5, 307, 459, us5, 434, 872,us5, 732, 094, us6, 570, 884, us6, 115, 776, and us6, 327, 625 Realtek pcie gbe family controller service v2.47 393444445-3830-3231-4544ffffffffpxe-e53: no boot file name received. So can anyone help I have no idea what to do and I am not that savvy about hardware and bios and stuff thanks

If your board is version 4.1 or later it should support the FX-8350. For version 4.1 of that board, you would need version F3 BIOS. For version 5.0 of that motherboard, there is only one BIOS and it supports the FX-8350.

But from your description, it sounds like your HDD is not being recognized. When you turn on the PC, start tapping F11 for the boot selection. When it appears, choose your C: drive and see if it boots. If so, something in BIOS may have gotten changed.

As a last resort, put the old processor back in and see if the PC boots to Windows.

I've looked everywhere in the manual about updating the bios but can't find anything specific so I had a look online and all I seem to be able to find is updating the bios through the Internet but the trouble is I can't access the internet because all I get is a screen with a bunch of codes.

I'm just a little worried that I might do some damage the cpu had thermal paste applied all ready. I cleaned the thermal paste of the old one so when I change them round again all the thermal paste is going to be slightly rubbed off will this effect the cpu at all?

Make sure to get a good, stout board. 8+2 phase power, heatsinked mosfets. And you should put your old cpu into that Gigabyte board and download the new bios, put it on a usb stick and flash the bios using the Gibayte app Q Flash or whatever its called.. Its really something you should know how to do if you are going to tinker and or do upgrades.
