I´ve tried for days now, but i cant seem to find a stable overclock for my 5970.
The only real "stable" i've found is 785MHZ core clock, and 1150 memory clock speed
and that´s just nothing, considering i got the artic cooler on it, it never goes beyong 60c

My specs are:

Sapphire Radeon 5970 (with Artic cooler)
Amd phennom ii x6 (1090)
Kingson V300 120GB SSD and a 1TB Wester digital HDD.
Asus M5A97 PRO (motherboard)
8GB ram (1866 mhz)
Coolermaster storm stryker (tower)
and a 750W silver certified seasonic power supply

I really need some help, since i want to push abit more power out of my card, and i really dont have the money to upgrade.
Im gaming on a single 1080 monitor.

OCing the GPU is not only about heat. Sometimes the cards just can't overclock well, it's part of the "silicon lottery".

I would recommend starting at stock values, then adding voltage (if your card lets you). Then add core clock speed in increments of 15-20mhz until it becomes unstable, and then back it off. Then repeat the process for the memory clock speed, going in increments of 20-25.

Some GPUs will allow voltage control. Others do not.

Some reading for you...

With safe and solid power along with good cooling I think you can get a good OC off this card.
