Hi,
My computer is slow. I have windows 8.1 and 4gb-s of memory.

When I check the resource monitor I see that 88% is in use all the time, when running few applications, internet browser, skyp etc. I cant run more then 2 apps, it will become too slow then.

Is the picture with my processes and memory use normal or is something eating all the memory. If so then what?

Solution
Yeah you can your laptop suppourts up to 8gb open the back to see if it uses 1 or 2 memory modules and check out what the frequency and timings are if you can listed on the sticker on the memory modules

Solution
1. Yes, you can upgrade ram. Go to a ram vendor web site and access their upgrade ram configurator.
Enter your laptop model and you will get a list of supported upgrade kits.

2. 4gb may well be enough. In the task manager, look at the performance section and find the hard page fault rate. If it is more than 2 per second, then ram is overcommitted. The usage is not a true indicator of need. Windows keeps as much as it can in ram in anticipation of instant reuse.

3. If your storage space needs are modest, consider changing your hard drive out in favor of a ssd. Phe performance gain will be astonishing. Laptop hard drives are optimized for low power, not performance.
