I have GTX 770 from Asus, and newest nvidia beta drivers
It works great, but if I play for longer period of time, frame buffer drops suddenly (GPU tweak shows that) and it starts lagging. I need to leave the game and come back to it a couple of times for it to start working smooth again. When I checked this events are visible in event viewer as nvlddmkm.
Additionally, but might be unrelated, I get bsof after wake up, and same error is visible.
In asus they told me to use older driver, from two generations ago, but I know that it is pain to do, so what do you think

is windows fully updated?

have you tried resetting cmos?

is the firmware for the ssd up to date.

is the ssd set up properly? ( google that )

are the monitors both running at their normal resolution and refresh rates?

what programs are running in the background while you play?

is the motherboard BIOS up to date?

Check to make sure that your settings are correct in Nvidia control panel.. I dont know much about Nividias control panel but I know Catalyst has an option to turn frame pacing / buffer..

Windows is mostly up to date, new updates still pop up every once in a while, I clwned CMOS earlier because of other issue I had, monitors are both OK, motherboard is also up to date.
I don't really have a lot running on the background, mostly just Asus and corsair stuff.

I will look how to setup the ssd, but as far as I know it works fine as it is, never the less, I will do it.

programs running in the background..................windows updates will be one of those. it does to your system exactly what you described above. that's why you need not have anything running in the background. things like skype/instant messaging/windows updates/auto updates for anything. anti virus that you let do scans automatically or don't turn to gamer mode or shut down is another.

what were the issues that made you reset cmos?
