I have just recently purchased a Segate barracuda 2 TB HDD and upon installation after booting up with it installed noticed that it wasn't showing up anywhere even though windows had a little popup that said it "saw new hardware, installing drivers" but disappeared never to be seen again, please help I cant find the drive anywhere in the OS. I am an advanced computer user I know my way through windows 7 well, and am baffled.

If you cannot see the drive in the BIOS, you will not be able to see it in Diskpart either.

have you check the SATA cable?

have you tried a different SATA port?

If you are using a know good power connector, SATA cable, and SATA port, it seems to be a drive issue.

Do you have another system to test it in?
