Hello, when I start my computer it begins to make this loud clanking noise. I am not sure what it is but it is really annoying. I got told it might be the hard drive or something. So I don't know if I am meant to upgrade it or what. I really need it to stop. I checked task manager and the disk was hammering away at 100%. Do you know a way to stop this by maybe upgrading something?

Thanks!!!

how loud and clanky? sounds like a fan bearing possibly going bad or the HDD's arm like you mentioned getting stuck somewhere. if the hard drive is 100% full look into adding another, or replacing it if it is indeed failing.

I would say having your disk at 100% is a problem and its the HDD either workin hard, or failing

Do you think I should try and replace it for a quiter better one? For my birthday I want to upgrade my pc and get better parts. The CPU was running quit high and I wasen't doing anything/ I think the CPU and Hard drive are bad. Do you think if I got this hard drive it would be better? : http://www.amazon.co.uk/1TB-inch-Internal-Hard-Drive/dp...

Or if not, got any other solutions?

get a 60GB SSD and re install windows OS on it, you can leave your other drive untouched or even plugged when doing so. Then re connect after a clean install, and move like 10GB off the 100% onto the free space of the new ssd. that will get the 100% disk to get it to around 90-95% so its not so bad.
