Im thinking of buying the Amd R9 270 X GPU with Boost OC 2 GB DDR5 which falls into my budget but is my computer powerful enough to hand it

PC Specifications

-Intel i5 2500k
-2×4 gb ddr3 ram
-550 watt psu
-Windows 7 ultimate
-Intel DH61WW Motherboard
-Seagate 2Tb HDD

So is my motherboard compatible with the R9270X coz i know its old and do i need a cooler or the stock one is enough ?
Moreover will i be able to play games at crisp 1080p not ultra mostly high using all this,Games like the coming COD Advanced Warfare or shud i just go and buy ps4 as a last option?

One last thing after how many years will i need to upgrade this Gpu

Thanks in Advance!

What model is the PSU? If it's not a decent one, it won't be able to handle the GPU.

Should work fine, then. Seasonic makes good stuff.

Should work well together. CPU is still very powerful.

How about Asus Maximus IV extreme? It's good for gaming.

ROG is way overpriced, and the only point in getting it is for extreme OCing.

It's no better for gaming than a board several hundred dollars cheaper. And his current board is fine.
