Hi guys,

since last monday i am using world painter to create pretty maps for building epic medieval cities.
After hours of work i decided to test it on minecraft (local singleplyer map) with optifine + HD shaders like SEUS and a watershader.
Well, I just logged in and my game freezes. 6GB of RAM were totally filled and my processor% was always at the 90% mark.

I have an AMD X4 965 BlackEdition (not overclocked) an properly running motherboard and a Radeon HD6670... could you give me infos on what makes my pc stuck and what hardware do you advise?

Thanks

An FX-6300 is great workhorse for the money, but you'd need another motherboard AM3+ to pair with it.

Some suggested parts, you could do a rebuild/upgrade with some or all of the parts. For best performance on minecraft, you'll need a better cpu & motherboard first. If you already have 4gb or 8gb of ram, you could use the sticks you have already. Also, reuse your hard...

Many of the mods are poorly optimized and your PC's showing its age. The graphics card is substandard and the 965 is roughly 5 years old.

I have an E8400 and GTS250. I have all the bells and whistles turned off or down and no mods. I fluctuate between 20 and 60 fps Averaging 30 with a simple map. My feeling is if you have a massive, complicated map, you're going to be crawling. As I've mentioned in other threads, I've had maps with too many cows in one area and the game goes down to 0 FPS.

thanks for the information.

What do you think about using a mid-budget workstation gpu? The only games that i really play are minecraft, Skyrim and Borderlands 2

Could you count some fitting cpus? does it have to be a new intel. I dont know how minecraft works, especially by using multithreading.
therefore a cheaper amd fx could be sufficient - or not?
