I have Linux on my laptop. I see that some keys like tilde(~), apostrophe ('), and inverted commas (") do not show up on screen If I type them. I have to type them and then press space, then only they will show up on the screen. On the same laptop, I have Windows as well and there is no problem like this if I use Windows. Could you please help me to solve this issue?

You have your keyboard set on US International. Those are dead keys so that you can write in foreign languages easily. OK niño? Just change to a non international keyboard under settings.
