Will a AMD FX 9590 4.7 Bottleneck a R9 280x?

Basically as above? i'm looking to do an upgrade and i currently have a R9 280x which is being bottlenecked by my I5 650.

So question is is it viable and will it work? don't have that much money for another Iseries processor so was hoping to go for the FX9590 as its quite cheap!

Anyway thanks in advance

Peter

It won't bottleneck, but the FX 9590 is horribly inefficient. Takes a ton of heat and power, requires special expensive motherboards, and is just generally not recommended. You're not even supposed to use them in warm climates without replacing the cooler.

Also, the 9590 costs $300, which is way more than an i5. How is it possible that you can't afford an i-series CPU but you can afford a 9590?

Ditto to the guys above. There's no reason to go with AMD anymore. They lost the performance battle and appear to be finished with high powered CPU design and sales.

Go with Somewhere's recommendation.

They do make some nice FM2+ and AM1 CPUs for unbelievably low cost budget builds with surprisingly good performance.

But yeah, they're out of the performance race and the FX-9590 is... I mean, I don't even know who that's for. It literally has no advantages over an i7 for the same price.

Sorry i was comparing on the "same level" so I7 to the 9590. Should of made that clearer!

As above, there are far cheaper chips, and you need a really serious board.

I'd go for a 4670K and a ~$130 Z87 board. Should cost far less.

Will look into that thankyou!

Thanks to everyone who has replied!
