I recently purchased a sound card for my desktop and I watched a few videos on how to install it. They said to go into BIOS to set it up. I restarted my computer and tried pressing the delete key to get into BIOS. Nothing happened. I pressed it a few more times and the screen went black and stayed like that. I waited about 10 minutes and finally I just shut off my computer. I tried it again and it did the same thing. I restarted it again and didn't try to go into BIOS and it booted up fine. Does anyone know how to fix this or even if there is another way to set up my sound card?

Solution
Strange! You just need to disable on-board Audio so that you can reap the fruits of dedicated sound card. If it is not working that way, remove the sound card. Start the PC, press whatever key it prompts to enter in the BIOS. Search for OnBoard/Builtin Devices and disable on board audio. Save the settings and restarts.

Shut down the PC. Install the sound card correctly on its slot. Start the PC and let the windows start. Install the driver of the card and start enjoying it.
