Hello Everyone,

I recently upgraded my PC and purchased the r9 290 tri-x, PSU 760W and an SSD drive. Since then, at least once a day I'm getting windows to hang (8.1 64bit) with a blue screen sad face and the error code 0xa000001

I've also been digging in the windows debug info and it all points to the graphics card stops working, here is the output of windows debugger from today's crash:

Microsoft (R) Windows Debugger Version 6.2.9200.20512 X86

Additionally I would like to mention that I tried to re-install the most up to date drivers but no change, I also noticed that after the installation completes, it shows that an error occured during the installation but when I open the log file everything says successfull (the XML log file), so I don't know what's up with that...

I'd really appreciate any help, thanks in advance.

Solution
No worries, this is common with AMD GPU, even my R9 270X does the same!
What you can do is, clean uninstall your drivers and switch back to older once like Catalyst 14.3 rather than 14.4, and while installation go to custom install and just install the display driver, no need to install catalyst suite or any thing else, just display driver!!

I have observed that most of the time these Bsods come because of Catalyst suite!
i did the same as i have written and now i am not getting any Bsods :D
