IS IT WORth reinstalling windows 8.0 after installing windows 8.1

I bought a computer with Windows 8.0 and then foolishly upgraded to 8.1. I realized after that I could no longer use Windows Easy Transfer to move my data from my old windows 7 computer to the new computer. Beside that a few software packages aren't available for windows 8.1 that I use.

is it now worth it to re-image the computer back to windows 8.0 like when I bought it last week?

No.
Just share out a couple of folders, and move you data over through the LAN.

What software packages do you have that seemingly do nott work in Windows 8.1?

The short answer is no. 8.1 came out for reason as there were issues with 8.0.
