Ok, I need some advice here. I currently have a Gigabyte 760 and I am considering either buying another 760 to run in SLI or just a single 770. What do you think will be best? I will only be gaming at 1080p single monitor.

It will be running on Asus p8z68 v pro gen 3 Mobo with overclocked i5 2500k.

Thanks in advance!

760s in sli will have more raw power. for GPU rendering in sli this will be great, for gaming (ive never used sli) ive heard most the issues have been sorted and the performance is where it should be.

now consider the power supply, and if you have enough watts. If you have to buy a new PSU to accommodate the SLI youre probably better off just sticking to one single card. its less headaches anyway (not to say sli is bad, but one card is easier)

Upgrading to the 770 would be a waste of money unless you can sell the 760 for only a bit less compared to what you paid for it.

760 SLI is a good option and will last long, also newer games will not struggle with SLI. Older games might not support it or have trouble running it --> but older games will run 60+ fps on a single 760 most of the times anyway :D.

Conclusion:
Upgrading to 1x 770 would be a waste of money (what you get for your money isn't worth the upgrade) - if you want to upgrade, upgrade to a 780/780ti.

2x 760 will last a long time AND give excellent performance, but will limit your upgrade path.

SLI 760 all the way. Youll be pushing past a 780 performance wise. I had the same concern a few years ago (SLI 670 were my first two card setup), but SLI is rock solid...i'll never go back now. Enjoy friend!

Thanks for the replies so far!

I have a 700w psu. It was either artic cooler or antec. Can't remember now as was about 3 years ago and not at home to look at it! I believe it will be sufficient for two 760s.

I did look at 780 single card but at approx £360 it would cost me about £200 after I sold my 760, which is more than I want to pay, as it's more of a luxury thing than a need as the 760 runs everything on ultra so far at 40+ fps as mentioned!

I can get a second 760 for £170 with watch dogs free, and seeing as I have that on pre order for £40, I can cancel that and the real cost of the second 760 will be £130. Bargain!

Only concerned about the electricity bill using SLI! :)

If it is only a luxery and you are concerned about electricity, keep 1x 760 and upgrade to 800 series when they release. I heard that they use very little power wise!

If you don't care that much about power, still make sure the PSU is sufficient (80+ bronze/higher) - otherwise it might be enough to hold 2x 760.

Buying it atm would be a pretty sweet deal because of Watch Dogs, if you want the extra FPS for a relatively cheap price I'd say go for it!
