Configuring HDMI output as analogue?

Hi
There are several versions of DVI some output VGA analogue so a simple adaptor will do or the cable shown on Amazon.
Simple adapter or cable much cheaper than active hdmi to VGA converter
With the raspberry PI I needed a active adapter to convert hdmi to VGA
(d-sub 15 pins) . It needs a 5v psu . I found one on Amazon
