Hi. Going to a quad core would be helpful. The Video card, although not a new one, is a good one. With your resolution being as it is, I don't foresee any lag. Going to a higher res you will most likely.

Sorry to disappoint you but, that system is not that great. Maybe medium settings with a lower resolutions, you'll be able to pull good frames. All the games that you mention are really GPU + CPU intensive so don't expect the best out of your system.

Well at 1440x900 you should be able to run with Medium settings on that 7770.
The 7770 is not a new card, but it is still a good value-orientated choice.

Your CPU is good enough right now, so don't upgrade to a CPU which though is more powerful is old.

Your next upgrade should be a whole system rework, changing the CPU, Motherboard and GPU.

My motherboard is very old but it does support Core 2 Quad as the shopkeeper mentioned it when I purchased it .Is Core 2 Quad enough?

I am on a tight budget and the only thing I can upgrade right now is ram and processor . My mother board only supports Core 2 Quad tho.

I agree, if you really do enjoy PC gaming, you could save for a whole new system. Also I was wrong about the Processor, http://www.amazon.com/Intel-Processor-2-83GHz-1333MHz-B... thats the best Core 2, its on par with a Core i3-3220.

But I would not be worth upgrading your current system to the Q9550, it would be a waste of money.
