anti virus problems

Hi,

my Norton anti virus has expired and the renewal cost was quite expensive so decided to try and download the avast at a cheaper cost but it keeps coming up with a problem.

I then decided to try windows anti virus but this also keeps coming up with an error.

I have un installed the Norton.

Can anyone help?

Specifics of the problem?

And also, norton needs a separate application from their website to fully uninstall itself. Super sneaky.

If avast did not work, try AVG is one of the best free antivirus out there, here's the link:

Thanks for your help, I have tried installing AVG and this is what it said:
Coul not write value NamePrefix to key\SYSTEM\ current control set\ services\ AVGIDSAgent\ Parameters. Verify that you have sufficient access to that key, or contact your support personnel.

Severity: Error
Error Code: 0xC0070643
Error Message: Geneal internal error
Additional Message: MSI Engine: ffailed to install product.

Try the free version of bitdefender antivirus or avira free antivirus or panda antivirus.I recommend avira antivirus from here "http://avira-free-antivirus.en.softonic.com"

Download this program CCleaner just download the free version:

http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download

Do a registry clean up after its done click delete and remove all. Try installing the antivirus after you have done this.
