The status of this HDMI output is changing from 1920x1080p to 1920x1080i depending of the equipment connected downstream. I read 1080p when connected to a brand new Samsung TV, and 1080i when connected to a brand new ATEM Television Studio from BlackMagic. Can you explain this ?

Yes I know and I read a 1080i status on my Canon camcoder HDMI output when connected directly to one of the HDMI input of the ATEM.
My problem comes when I use a HDMI to SDI converter in between: the camcoder HDMI output status switch to 1080p, kept unchanged by the converter, delivering then an SDI 1080p signal to the ATEM, not able to read it. Any reason for this ?
