Hi there,

I am hoping someone on here can help me. My sister has a Dell Studio XPS PP35l and it seems there is a problem with the screen. When i turn it on it seems that the picture is overlayed like 3 times. I have added 2 photos below to show you guys whats happening. The 1st one is when i first turn it on, the 2nd is after a few minutes. I am hoping this is a simple fix, i am quite handy with laptops/pcs so hopefully be able to fix myself.

Any help would be hugely appreciated

Please may i also not that there is screen issues without a harddrive plugged in also as seen in the above picture in the bios. I have just tried it with the harddrive plugged in and booted to windows and it seems there are still issues but when i move the cursor over the blacked out bits it shows the desktop image it supposed to for a few seconds then it goes back to blank, which makes me think its not the screen broke? I have added another picture below to show you the desktop situation;

Thanks
Tim

UPDATE: I have just checked it through an external display and it has the same problems on that screen also so seems to be a hardware issue somewhere?

Again any help would be hugely appreciated

Thanks

Just found your post today. Facing the same issue here.

Screen image seem overlayed and screwed up for me too. It is not a software/OS issue as connecting the laptop to an external display also duplicates the issue. There's not an option to replace the video card as it is attached to the MoBo.

Looks like the machine took a beautiful crap just like 2 months after warranty expired. Thanks for the excellent quality machine, Mr. Dell.

Sorry I wasn't much of a help @tjcutts but I've been online looking for some answers too. Good luck on this endeavour! I'll update this if I find something.
