hello fellows I am planning to build a medium level gaming pc that can run games at no more that 1440x900 res.
I choose the following stuff:
Mother Board:Gigabyte H61M-DS2
Processor:Intel® Core™ i3-2120 Processor
(3M Cache, 3.30 GHz)
Ram:6 GB
Graphics Card:7770 HD
Will this PC play games with mentioned res on medium to high ?
I am looking at watchdogs , gta v if it releases gta 4, AC BlackFlag , NFS Rivals ,Splintercell Blacklist and all thee upcoming games :p I have already maxed out my budget just asking will it play or not ? :p
cheers

Its older, so I'd recomend a newer I5 or I3 but if it only works with your Mb it should run fine and not bottleneck a HD 7770. Also if you can wait a couple days my friend has a PC with a HD 7770 and I3 3320 with a 900p monitor so I will ask him to test out some games for you.

thanks for the reply fellows . This setup will cost me 35000RS as I live in Pakistan but I can wait a month or two (Which i dont want to) and Get an i7 Instead other things remaing constant what do guys think about that? My monitor is DellUltraSharp which is why i am not going to be playing at other res than that :p

It is actually running at 900p. i think it is 19 inches monitor

Np

People here the term "i3" and they assume it's bad. In reality, the i3-2120 trades blows with an FX-6300 in many circumstances, losing under full load but winning in core per core performance and many older games, as well as a few newer games.\

Having 6 cores does not make the FX-6300 good, and having 2 cores does not make an i3 bad. They're different methods of optimization that perform better in different situations.

I have used Core2Duo E8400 3.0 Ghz since last year and cant say its much different in day to day task as my friends core 2 quad .You are complete right on this one , higher cores just for multitasking ps who plays games while browsing :p i3 is more than enough

The only game that really benefits with more cores is Crysis 3. But I heard the community has died on that game.

That's not the only game, but one of the few that benefits from 6+.
Several games optimize for 4, but most dual cores are still strong enough.
