24 pin won't fit in, is something wrong with my motherboard?

Hello everyone, so I was excited to build my computer today, then, as I was building, i realized I wasn't able to get the 24 pin connector to my motherboard, even if shook it in and all that. It's 99% inside there. When I try to turn it on,(Note I currently have no RAM installed, just CPU) my fan does not spin, neither the chassis nor the CPU fan. Also, my PSU is not the problem since I tried the paperclip test and it works perfectly fine. Any suggestions? Is it possible that my motherboard is dead?

-PSU: Corsair CX500m
-Motherboard: Asrock H81M-ITX (Mini ITX motherboard)

Make sure it's oriented the right way.

If it's in 99% then you have to push hard until the clip clicks into place.

It takes a little force, as long as it clips in and you can see there is no gap then it's ok. add the CPU and RAM and the PSU cables and try and turn on the PC.

This is a common problem with the CX500.

The latch that locks it in place may bow instead of locking. Use a small flat blade screwdriver to straighten out where it bows.
