Hey gys,

I am in the process of changing my old and good for nothing pc. I a from Tunisia, here the parts are rare and very expensive, so I have found a way to buy from France. Due to a limited budget, I have chosen to go for a GPU and a PSU, and later ( like 6months or a year from now) I will complete the other parts, which I inted to be an i5-4xxx CPU and a good MOBO (may be an msi z77).

So for now, I have picked those two parts: (after I have consulted the tom's hardware france)

GPU: R9-280 dual-x from sapphire and it comes with 3 free games! --> http://www.ldlc.com/fiche/PB00163335.html (200Euro=275$) --> can you compare it with the GTX 760 twinfrozr? (game-debate, says that the R9-280 is better, but I don't find the sapphire model so I replace it in their benchmark with msi one).

PSU: http://www.ldlc.com/fiche/PB00150992.html (65Euro=90$) (It is a seasonic build psu designed for the retailer: 450W 80+ Gold) I found also:

1. http://www.ldlc.com/fiche/PB00150484.html
2. http://www.materiel.net/alimentation-pc/enermax-lepa-b650-mb-modulaire-650w-96337.html
3.http://www.rueducommerce.fr/Composants/Alimentation-PC/Alimentation-modulaire/BE-QUIET/4850262-Alimentation-modulaire-Be-Quiet-Pure-Power-L8-530W-80-Bronze.htm#moid:MO-147C2M22445796

Note: the sites are in french.

Now I have: CPU: e2180 (I know!!): I have a solution to buy a used Q9300 until I fully upgrade the combo. What do you say?
GPU (GT220 o_O well it served me well)
RAM: 4Gb
MOBO: Biostar G41D3.

So what do you think, is the psu future-proof. Is there any bugs or problems with the R9-280 especially it will set on that old biostar fo a while (the reviews on the R9 280 are very very rare!!!). Is there any other choices.

I read other threads, and I can say that The solution to by from France is not permanent, so if I don't buy now, may be I can't do it another time. I still didn't buy anything, so I am waiting for your advices.

Thanks.

You can not use a i5 4xxx series cpu on a z77 motherboard z77 only suppourts 2000 and 3000 series cpus. Even though its seasonic i would still recommend gettings atleast a 500w for a 280x and dont waste your money on an old q9300 its just a waste of money.

thx, can you recommend another PSU, if not from the list that I have posted, any other good one. And when I will buy the CPU+MOBO I will post it here, but if you can give me a suggestion it would be nice.

Here is a reminder of the other psu:

1. Enermax LEPA B650-MB Modular - 650W 80+bronze
2. FSP RAIDER S550 550W 80PLUS Silver
3. Be Quiet Pure Power L8-530W - 80+ Bronze

And for the CPU, I will stick with my old friend the e2180 until the cpu upgrade, so thx for the tip, I thought the q9300 will help until the i5 comes, but if it is not, than I will save my money.

I have doubts about the psu, if I will complete my rig in the near future, I will need a psu that delivers at least 460w (calculated with this site: http://www.extreme.outervision.com/PSUEngine and supposing I have an ssd, 2 hdd, 3 120mm fans, an i5 4570, a high end mobo, and all the accessories) and they recommend 510w (460+50), so a 550w psu would be sufficient. In another forum, a member calculated with asus and founda crazy 750w!! he suggested to replace the gpu with a gtx760 and it would drop to 650w.

Any thoughts?

And a question: many sites don't recognize the r9 280 they just step from r9 270x to r9 280x, as it is not existing!! why?
