Hello, I am new to PC gaming and would like to get into it. After searching, I found that building your own is better than pre built. I was wondering if some one could reccomend a build for a gaming pc. I would like to play indies, old games, and some new games, so it would have to be somewhat powerful. I would also like it to be upgradeable in the future. My budget is 600-1000 U.S. dollars. (Monitor included) P.S., is there any stores where I could get this assembled or manuals please tell. (I do have a PC friend to help build it to.) Thanks.

Solution
I would suggest checking out newegg's 3 part guide on building a computer on youtube (I used this on my first build too). I am unsure if you need Os and depending on your budget, you can get a better cpu/gpu.

Solution
Since you want to play older games and indie games as well as newer ones, you'll want an optical drive and i3 rather than no optical drive and an FX.
The i3 is stronger core per core, which will help quite a lot in older games and indie games, which often don't optimize for 6 cores and would leave an FX-6300 underpowered. Newer games will run a bit better on the FX-6300, but not much of a difference. Also, the LGA 1150 socket offers more room to upgrade than the AM3+ socket.

I assume you'll also need an operating system, I'm not sure why people always neglect that.
