Ok so awhile back I had this same issue. Asus mobo i cant remember what its called but it was for an i7-2600k

So background info:
Previous mobo was working great for 6 months, then restart loop happened, however it would stop once in a while. Did everything from changing thermal paste to heatsink hdd ram psu (except change case or cpu)...nothing changed...what did work temporarily was clearing cmos....but wasnt a permanent solution

In the end changed mobo to z77-sabertooth removed previous chipset drivers installed new ones...was going great since december....and today the nightmare has returned....

Now this time i had a professional do the build for me so it was done right. I unplugged hard drives and booted up still was restarting and iswapped ram slots, didnt work....i unplugged video card didnt work....

Everything was fine i had the pc on overnight and when i woke up this morning turned on my tv it started to restart......

Now i do see red lights blink in order from closest being cpu, then video card, then ram....is it possible my processor or my case is causing this nightmare?

Any and all help is immensely appreciated! Thank you

Component list:

Asus z77 sabertooth (new from last dec)
I7-2600k
Corsair hx 850w
8gb kingston hyper-x 1600mhz 4gb x2
Sapphire 6970 dual fan i think 2gb ram
1tb seagate barracuda
1tb WD green
3tb external hdd

All components except mobo are from 2011 or 2012

So i was able to get into desktop but it didnt last long enough maybe 2 mins and then rebooted.

So i guess my psu could be dying? I dont have a tester to check dang

Ok i think it is the psu, i put the ram cards back in and it booted fine, black screen somehow fixed itself, i put gpu back in and it booted to windows logo but started the loop again.

Admirable
so as for your system,

the most stable we can check is using both ram sticks but without the gpu,

can you check if you wont encounter bluescreen's / or restart cycles, by just letting the computer sit on idle for atleast an hour?

this is for testing the stability of your motherboard, without stressing the psu.

fellas! thanks so much for the help, with your suggestions narrowing down the nuisance was easier...turns out, my Antec case/tower was the root of all my anger this time lol. We tried everything from pc doctor and other tests that shows all components were fine, so we couldn't figure it out, till I looked at my technician and said "how funny would it be if it was the reset button causing my pc to restart?"...and so the technician just popped it out and here I am posting from my PC....lol.....

so thanks again for your help guys, situation resolved

Issue: Non stop restart cycle (sometimes makes it to desktop)
Cause: Reset button/cable from case/tower
Solution: Removed plug from motherboard, success!
