Greetings, I need your help and I will do the best I can to explain it.

Under the guidance of some friends of mine, I bought my cousin some new tech. Specifically I bought him: a new case (HAF 942X), a new GPU (not relevant) and a new power supply (Corsair HX1050). I have been aiding him in setting up his computer in his new case and hit a huge snag that I cannot get much help on via the internet or the pathetic thing they call a "service guide". He has a H-RS880-uATX motherboard. Please help. I will list the current issues. I would add a picture but I cant seem to add it :( Im sorry.

1) The power connector from the old system is vastly different to the new connector for the case. I was told that using the J18 slots (upper right last 2 slots) would work for the power switch as well as reset switch ect. However when I did this and turned on the system for a test. (Note: No GPU, No hard drive, No disk reader.) The system turned on when I powered on the power supply itself. When I attempted to use the power button or reset button nothing happened and power would only turn off after turning off the power supply. I tested it multiple times in different configurations just in case. Any ideas?

2) My power supply does not have a 4 pin connector for the PU521 slot near the CPU. I honestly am unsure what it does but the system still turned on. What is its function? Is there some sort of 4 pin adapter?

Please help me!
