Hi, i'm using windows 7 and i have a brother mfc-j430w which does printing and scanning. The printer was properly installed, I can print and scan documents before, but as of last night, i was about to scan a docu, a window popped up and says, no scanner detected. But I can print documents, so it means both are connected right? What must be the problem? It's getting into my nerves. Thank you guys.

Did you install the drivers on the disk or are you just use windows drivers? If you are using windows drivers I'd suggest trying the drivers on the disk. (preferably the drivers from the manufacturers website as they are the most up to date.)

Yes, I installed the drivers on the disk.

Hmm, In device manager, is there any yellow exclamation marks? (it should just be at the bottom of the list, don't bother opening all the triangle things) Also in device manager, what shows up under the printer list?

You can get to device manager by just typing it into the search on the start menu.

I found a solution recently. Thanks by the way.
