Hi all! I'm having problems with a new dual-monitor setup I'm working with. One of my monitors(IT was going to throw it away, and I said I'd take it, I mean it's a free monitor and it works) is only VGA compatible, and my current monitor that I've been using for a while now is HDMI based. I have an AMD Radeon 6870 in my build, and my CPU has Intel HD 4000 built in. When I plugged in my new monitor however, W8 does not even see it. I have checked the BIOS to make sure that the IHD 4000 is active, reinstalled the drivers for it and everything yet Windows does not even see that it exists. It just keeps using my current monitor. Does anybody know what's going on and how I can fix it?

Normally, when a discrete graphics card is installed, the on-board graphics are disabled. Is there a reason you're not using a DVI-VGA adapter from your graphics card to the second monitor?

The main reason I'm not using a DVI-VGA is because I don't have one on hand. I would like to be able to have the two graphics processors running side by side. If not, it wouldn't be impossible to go pick one up at Microcenter or something, it would just be easiest to have it plug in and work.
