Hello everyone I am looking for some help in changing the current GPU on my laptop. My laptop is known as an 16f3 series. Here is a link to it. http://www.notebookcheck.net/Review-Deviltech-Devil-670...

Currently I have been using a 675m GeForce Card but it has burn marks on it and is causing BSOD. So I want to find some cheap alternatives for PC Gaming that are similar to that sizing. My price range is from $100 to 250$. A list of possible cards that can fit would be promising. Thank you very much for the help. Some links to some possible sellers would be very much appreciated too.

Changing the graphics in a laptop is not as easy as it is in a desktop. The only card guaranteed to work is an exact replacement. Even then, laptop graphics cards are incredibly expensive.

mobile graphics cards aren't readily accessible as desktop ones. eg if you go on Newegg and search for "gtx 880m" all that comes back is laptops with that card already in it. Same with eBay. And you'll notice there's no retail prices for mobile gpus here - http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/high_end_gpus.html

And they are expensive. Twice the price/performance as a desktop card. You can only get them from laptop manufacturers as far as I know.

Being a Alienware M17xR2 owner, I can feel for you OP. But here is the big issue, you're running Optimus, which is to say when you're not gaming you're running on IGP, when your going to game, then poof, it magically (it seems) switches to your NVidia card. That is a serious issue as this limits the makes, models, etc. even the specific BIOS compatibility of a card that MAY even fit in this specific design (NO there is NO standard Laptop Video Card design, just interface which was MXM2.0b).

Honestly a 'hack' of any sort for a laptop is only going to be found in the FORUMS of THAT maker / model laptop. Basically where ONLY laptop owners who buy that brand / model will discuss ONLY that brand / model. Tom's wouldn't be the place realistically to get any suggestions (which seems there is none per the link ONLY the 680M was used.. so you might need to go back to the maker for a replacement).
