Specs: i5 3570k, KHX BLu 1600MHz, Asus P8Z77 V LX, GTX 680, CX750M, Windows 8 pro.
I have had monor sound stuttering since I had this build. tried different speakers and a soud card. Troubleshooting is done......MY question is Could this be becuase of the RAM...Ivy bridge RAM is recommended for 1.5v and mine is set at 1.65v is that a problem???
Also I think it may be my Z77 chipset. I everything from the MB driver disk and updated a few things but never the driver.
Or maybe just the MB. The case worked fine with the last parts that were in it

Solution
I have 1.65V ram in my pc. I checked with G Skill first. It was on the mobo approved memory list. I've had no problems. Most ram over 1866 is 1.65V

DDR2 was higher. DDR4 will be lower.
Can you give us examples of "monor sound stuttering"?

Is there a sound card in the pc? Do you get the problems with and without the sound card?

How have you got it set up in Control Panel? Are you using a 2.1 or other speaker system. Do other speakers also have this same problem on your pc?

If you have no sound card or speakers or connections problems the it is most likely a mobo problem.

"monor"...I meant minor. Yes I ave tried different speakers and headphones...That is not really what is bothering me now though even though I can hear it often. I just more or les needed to know exactly what this 1.65v is actualy oing to my CPU. I have read that it is not uncommon to use 1.65v to get to 1600MHZ or more with RAM using an IVy bridge CPu

Ok...right on I just want to make sure that my RAM voltage is not going to damage my CPU. I mean right in the MB manual for Z77 chipset MB it says that you should not exceed the recommended 1.5v but many of the XMP profiles will automatically adjust to 1.65v. it is concerning to see thse contradictions. But your probably right as most people have their ram at 1.65v anwyay, well anyone running at 1600Hmz and up.
