How can I assign a letter value for an external hard drive?

How can I assign a letter value to my Seagate External Drive? Windows quit recognizing it under Computer. My OS is:C my Recovery is: D Hiw can I give my Seagate a Letter? i.e. B,F,..etc?

It may be more than just assigning it a drive letter. If it was being detected and shown in Computer before and suddenly it's stopped, it could be that there is something wrong with the drive or format of the drive itself.

I would look at it under Disk Management and see if it still appears as a physically attached device. This will first tell you if the computer actually knows it's connected. Then you should be able to see if it knows that it's partitioned and formatted.

Let us know what Disk Management shows.
